Transportation and Stringing of line pipes for pipeline construction project

Considered to be one of the biggest logistical challenges of a pipeline construction project, stringing and transportation of mammoth-sized and weighted line pipes from steel manufacturing units up to the construction site is a critical process. The process includes loading and offloading, securing pipes to the chosen mode of transportation (trucks or trailers), hauling and stringing pipes together on the project right-of-way (ROW) which is usually in some of the most remote places.

The job consists of Transportation of 48” line pipes,
The activities involved to lift (Loading in scope of dump yard contractor) Line pipe from Pipe Dump yard at Samni (K 48.00) and Wagodia (K 121.00), transportation of lifted pipes to pipeline ROU, as per requirement stated by PLL representative to required destination of ROW. The approx 48” pipes, each nearly 12 meters as per different wall thickness of pipes 15.9, 17.5 & 23.8mm

Scope of Work

Consignments of 48 inch line pipes, each nearly 12 meters and with different wall thickness like 15.9 mm, 17.5 mm and 23.8 mm, were loaded from Pipe Dump yards at Sonari, Srigoda, Samni, Wagodia, Chikli, Kasa and Goveli and securely delivered to ROW locations for East-west pipeline project of M/S Reliance Gas Transportation Infrastructure Ltd. in Maharashtra and Dahej-Vijaipur Pipeline Project, of M/s Gail (India) Ltd in Gujarat.

The line pipes were inspected and transported from GAIL Yard at Bhillad near Vapi to the designated dump yard hired constructed, maintained and transported further along the pipeline route.

Project II: Dabhol Bangalore Pipeline Project (DBPL)

The scope of work spans the activity of shifting 150 pipes per day for Dabhol pipe laying project.

Awarded contract for and carried out successful movement of 48” line pipe (coated pipes and bare pipes) x 3.33 km from Designated Stock Yards to four different Right of Ways (ROW) for the Vijaypur Dadri Pipeline Project.  The total length of pipes delivered:

Scope of Work: Spread -1 (Chainage 0 Km to 80.350 km), Spread-2 (Chainage 80.350km to 169.50 km) Total length 169.50 km.  Thickness of pipes 17.5 mm, 25.4mm, 27mm

Section C – Spread – 5 (Chainage335 km to 418 km), Spread-6 (Chainage 418.3km to 498 km) Total length 163.00 k.m. Thickness of pipes 17.5mm, 25.4mm and 27mm.
